Allegory of the cave vs Fahrenheit - Free Essay Example

The Allegory of the Cave and Fahrenheit 451 have many similarities and differences. The meaning behind Allegory of the Cave is concerning human perception. The meaning behind Fahrenheit 451 is censorship. Censorship is the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security. The Allegory of the cave was made in 380 and 360 B.C by Plato.Plato is a greek philosopher who did republic work. This paragraph is just going to explain the background of Fahrenheit 451. Fahrenheit 451 is a very popular book that is about a town who doesnt allow people to read books, or other written pieces. The main character is Montag. He is part of the firefighter team. Instead of the firefighters cleaning up and burning out fires their jobs were to make and start fires. The fires they start are composed of books and obviously fire. The government requires them to do this because they thought that people would gain a lot of knowledge and possibly overthrow the government, which was the governments greatest fear. Montag has a wife named Mildred, she is a very quiet person who just keeps to herself. Mildred and Montag dont really have good communication skills. They were always fighting and disagreeing about something. This paragraph is going to talk about the Allegory of the cave. This was a famous story written by Plato. Plato realizes that the general run of humankind can think, and speak, etc., without any awareness of his realm of Forms. There was a cave where they held prisoners who couldnt move their heads and all they can see was the wall of the cave. Behind the wall was a fire, between the prisoners and the fire was a wall with a walkway where people could walk through it. The prisoners would just stare at the blank wall and they would watch shadows that were projected onto the wall. Different people would walk through with puppets, that showed what they wanted the world to look like. They would make the world look like a happy place. One day one of the prisoners escaped and went outside to see what the real world looked like. He was so happy with it, he went back to the cave and told all of them of what the world was really like and that they should go see. They didnt believe him and jus t thought he was making it up to set them up.They did not want to leave so in the end they killed him. This story only has those main characters but they dont have any names. The puppeteers would be like animals, nature, and mythical characters. The prisoners have been there since birth and dont know any better than the shadow puppets. Now we are going to talk about the similarities between the Allegory of the Cave and Fahrenheit 451. They have many similarities. For example in both books they are kind of blind to the real world. It says in Allegory of the Cave that Conceive them as having their legs and necks fettered from childhood, so that they remain in the same spot, able to look forward only, and prevented by the fetters from turning their heads(Plato 747). In fahrenheit 451 it says While the books went up in sparkling whirls and blew away on a wund turned dark while burning(Bradbury 3). Both of these quotes are showing that they are under very strict rules. It also shows that for one the government were very on the firemen about burning the books. Also that the people in the cave were to strictly stay there. Ive heard rumours; the world is starving, but were well-fed. Is it true, the world works hard and we play? Is that why were hated so much? Ive heard the rumours about hate, too, once in a long while, o ver the years. Do you know why? I dont, thats sure! Maybe the books can get us half out of the cave. They just might stop us from making the same damn insane mistakes!(Bradbury 27). This is connecting to the Allegory of the Cave through the depictions of ignorance. The ?cave in Fahrenheit 451could be seen as the screens that are peoples top priorities that consume their lives.

Leadership, Trustworthiness and Ethical Stewardship Essay

Given the increase in organizational downsizings, layoffs, asset write-offs and executive bailouts, how important is the trust factor in defining a good leader? Without an established trust relationship a leader is unable to be effective. The problem to be investigated is the value of trustworthiness and ethical stewardship in the construct of the organizational leadership model. The Cohort of Who Need To Participate In the Program As a trainer I need to divide the group in two forms. The first group will consist of those individuals who are not very good at communication. So, I need to give them training on communication so that they can provide quality customer service. The second group will consist of those individuals who needs up gradation on their skills. If I provide them with the knowledge how to upgrade the skills then they will be able to provide quality assurance.Participants Benefit From the Program Training is ways of improving the efficiency in the present workforce. Training is not only important but it is vital. Training makes a company attractive to potential new recruits who seek to improve the skills and the opportunities. A training plan engages the organized training and development of people within the association so that they, and the organization, can attain their aims and both private and business goals (Posavac, 2015). Both the participants and the organization would benefit from the training program. This is the basic every organization has a trainer and it is our duty to give proper training to the staffs. The benefits are as follows:1. The industries are constantly changing and so it is vital for the organization to develop to evade being left behind. Being a trainer, I will train the workers to give them a chance to comprehend the latest progress and trends within the industry. The world is continuously developing with the new machinery or new social media. The training will help the employees to keep pace with the innovation. The training program will help to increase the productivity. This will help the staff to understand more but also it will help in gaining confidence. 2. It will help to maintain the knowledge and skill and upgrade themselves as an employee. Program Plan Learning theory Cognitive learning the cognitive theory will help to focus on a visible change in mental knowledge. It is about the change in what the learner is familiar with rather than what the individual accomplish (Schunk Zimmerman, 2012).The insight learning as well as the latent learning is the two constituent of cognitive learning. Under this learning theory scenario the staffs will acquire plans and policies instead of obtaining habits. It will depend on the type of the service provided by the staffs to the customers that will make the customers return to the restaurant. In the hand notes, I have to provide the employees with the case study that will help them to understand how to deal in a difficult situation. Technologies Required The technologies used in the training room should include a smart board. A smart board is both a whiteboard as well as a projection screen.
